MARYFIELD ABATTOIR & EXPORT PREPARATION FACILITY

Situated at Maryfield Station, conveniently located on the Stuart Highway, just 45 km north of Daly Waters, is North Star Pastoral’s newly opened Abattoir & Export Preparation Facility. With a current capacity of 10,000 head and all-weather, year-round access, the facility is ideally located for cattle heading both north and south for export or slaughter.

Moving stock from stations and properties in the Northern Territory, to export or slaughter can be a substantial change for cattle. A preparation facility minimises the impact of this change by providing a place and process of acclimatisation for the cattle prior to their next move. Cattle are socialised, introduced to trough water and different feeding methods, dipped to ensure they are free of cattle tick and checked over to make sure they are healthy and ready for their next journey.

Maryfield Abattoir & Export Preparation Facility is newly built, with modern facilities, plant and technology, including a full-length weigh bridge. The team are experienced and focussed on providing the best possible experience for every animal that passes through the facility.
